The human brain has two cerebral hemispheres that carry out most of the functions of the brain. Communication within the cerebral hemisphere is very extensive. Cerebral white matter is a part of cerebral hemisphere that carries out communication between the two hemispheres, and also forms a connection between different parts of the hemispheres.
