Chapter 12.4, Problem 12.4.12CP
Program Plan Intro
Exception handling:
In Java, the exception is an object used to signal the unexpected error occurred during a program execution.
- Exception is the error, which arises at run time and such errors can be handled in Java by exception handler.
Checked exception:
In method declaration, the checked exception is a type of exception which is explicitly declared.
- This can be caught with help of try-catch block.
- This can be checked at compile time.
- Let us consider the example,
public void P() throws IOException{}
- Here, P() indicates the method name to throw the IOException by using the throws keyword.
- This exception is thrown by explicitly.

Python Code:
Write a function that takes a single number as an argument:
1) This function should then check whether a number is an even number (2,4,6,8) and raise an exception if otherwise
2) Call this function with an uneven number first without catching the exception and then with catching the exception and printing a warning to the user afterwards
Bonus: Do the same as the above but instead implement your solution for prime numbers and call the function with a non-prime number

For instance, dividing a number by ‘0’ is a mathematical error (not defined). As you learned in class, you can use exception handling to overcome such operations. If you write a code without using exception handling, then the output of division by zero will be shown as infinity which cannot be further processed. Consider the following code: float Division(float num, float den) {return (num / den);} int main() { float numerator = 12.5; float denominator = 0; float result; result = Division(numerator, denominator); cout << "The quotient of 12.5/0 is " << result << endl; }arrow_forward

NegativeNumberException as a derived class of Standard Library class logic_error, that is used to detect if the user entered a negative number as a grade. 3.
