To determine:
Whethersuch a drug would work well in humans.
Introduction:
People want to look young forever; hence, they have searched many famous ideas to prevent aging by applying many efforts. Scientist targeting the telomerase of miceto determine the way through which aging can be prevented. Such mice contain shorter telomerase in comparison to the normal mice and mice that age prematurely. However, as such mice are engineered for expressing telomerase in their somatic cells; it results in the telomerase lengthening and the reversed aging effects. The outcome for this experiment determinesthat the expression of telomerase in somatic cells can prevent telomerase shortening and can stop the aging process.
To determine:
Some potential side effect of such a drug.
Introduction:
Aging of an individual is a multifactorial process, which causes a progressive functional loss at organismal, cellular and tissue level. Telomere attrition, genomic instability, cellular senescence, dysfunction of mitochondria, epigenetic alterations and stem cell exhaustion would molecular causes of aging in an individual.
