Difference between smooth muscles and skeletal muscles in terms of thick and thin filaments and excitation-contraction coupling.
Introduction:
Skeletal muscles are responsible for the movement of the skeleton and are specialized for the rapid and forceful contraction. It is a voluntary muscle and therefore is under conscious control. These are also found in the globe of the eye and the tongue, as the movement of these two muscles is also under our control.
Smooth muscles are in the wall of the digestive tract, that is, from the esophagus to the internal sphincter of the anus. These are also found in the walls of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, genitals, and the ducts of the glands.
