Introduction:

The receptors are the cells that are directly involved with the sensory neurons or the processes of the special sensory neurons. These receptors are divided into three groups, namely exteroceptors, proprioceptors, and interoceptors. The interoceptors are involved in monitoring activities, such as the urinary, digestive, and cardiovascular systems. They also provide sensations of pain, pressure, and taste.
