Chapter 13, Problem 19CP
Summary Introduction

To determine:

The affect on the speed of the reflex on stimulation of gamma motor neurons for the patellar reflex (knee jerk)

Introduction:

Patellar reflex is a monosynaptic reflex which is used to detect the working of the segments L2, L3 and L4. Intrafusal fibers have the ability to detect the change in the length of the fibers. These fibers are penetrated by two axons also. Gamma motor neurons are the neurons that are involved in the muscular contraction.
