Introduction:
The electrocardiogram (ECG) is a process through which the electrical activity of the heart is recorded on a characteristic graph paper. The heart is myogenic, that means it consists of specific cardiac muscles that can generate electrical impulses on their own. The sinoatrial nodes are the pacemakers of the heart. The ECG records the electrical activity of the heart on a graphical paper where different tracings are present. The tracings correspond to the systole, diastole and other processes in the heart. The graphical representation has a characteristic amplitude, direction, and duration of the different tracings. The standard ECG uses a 12-lead system, which are the electrodes.

- During your 0800 – 1800 shift, Mr. Mamaril is under your care. You receive a medication order to administer 500.mL of 2/3 & 1/3 over 8.hours. You begin infusion at 0800 using a 500 mL IV bag, and a delivery set calibrated to.25 gtt/mL. At 1400, there is 240.mL TBA. b) Is the IV on time, ahead or behind, and by how much (mL)? c) What is the new flow rate (mL/hr)? d) What is the new drip rate (gtt/min)?arrow_forwardAfter lying down for 5 minutes Bridgette's blood pressure reading was 105/71 mmHg.
