Does It Make Sense? For Exercises 5–8, determine whether the statement makes sense (or is clearly true) or does not make sense (or is clearly false). Explain clearly; not all of these have definitive answers, so your explanation is more important than your chosen answer.
6. Testing Paint. Consumer Reports rated house paints according to how well they hold up to hot weather by conducting an experiment in which they applied the various paints to identical surfaces that were then left exposed to the same hot weather conditions for the same length of time. But I don’t believe their results, because they did not consider how much the paints cost.
