Summary Introduction
To describe: The evidence of the presence of genes on chromosomes.
Introduction: All eukaryotic organisms contain chromosomes, and the number of chromosomes varies in different organisms. Therefore, essential changes in the segregation of duplicated genomes into daughter cells are required. Each chromosome contains a single DNA molecule. All these chromosomes must be compacted in order to fit within the nucleus of the cell. By studying the fruit flies Drosophila melanogaster, T. H. Morgan correlated sex chromosomes with the inheritance of a trait.
