About the LDL receptor mutation of the cytoplasmic domain that causes the familial hypercholesterolemia that reveals the pathway of the receptor mediated endocytosis.
Introduction:
LDL receptors are seen on the membranes of the cells of the liver and in others throughout the body. Through this LDL receptors the cholesterol enters into the common body cells. When these cholesterol gets attached to the receptors of LDL on the hepatocytes, they get released by the by these receptors along with the triglycerides. The cholesterol gets stored and gets oxidized in the form pf salt bile sot gets inside the bile that is unchanged.
When the cholesterol is there in excess the cell gets suppressed by the new formation of these receptors.Due to this the cholesterol intake decreases which is in the LDL form.
