Hepatitis B by checking the presence of HBs antigen within the blood, Human immunodeficiency virus by checking for anti-HIV 1 and HIV2 and HIV (nucleic acid test), Hepatitis C , HTLV test and test for syphilis antibodies. The blood is also tested for malarial antibodies and west Nil virus antibodies. These tests are performed to ensure that the blood is safe for the patient.
