Question
Chapter 14, Problem 2TC
Summary Introduction
To explain:
Why some genes have faster rates of evolution than other genes as population adapt to their environments. As geneticitists compare DNA base sequence among organisms, from these data they determine a gene’s rate of evolution. Different genes have been found to evolve at different rates.
Introduction:
Natural selection is the key for evolution as it involves mutation, genetic drift and migration. Natural selection brings variations among the individuals and favors heterozygote’s population. Variation among individual is because they inherit different genetic information from their parents. Every individual in a population is different and have different characteristics.
