Question
Chapter 14, Problem 3CR
Summary Introduction
To determine:
The principal types of glial cells and their functions.
Introduction:
Glial cells can also be referred to as neuroglia. They are present within both CNS and PNS. Glial cells in distinction to neurons are smaller and perform mitosis. They do not transmit nerve impulses, but they help neurons with their functions. They physically protect and nourish neurons, and also provide a supporting framework.
