Introduction:
The human body contains 12 pairs of cranial nerves numbered from I to XII. These nerves are involved in a number of functions such as perceiving different types of sensations, movement of facial muscles and so on. The cranial nerves consist of sensory as well as motor nerve fibers that provide innervation to the head and neck regions.
