Introduction:

Midbrain arises from the mesencephalon in the embryonic development of the brain. It is situated between the pons and cerebrum which is seen around the cerebral aqueduct. It has nerve fibers and nerve cell bodies. It connects the spinal cord and upper part of the brain. Nerve cell bodies act as control centers for various nerve fibers.
