Chapter 15, Problem 13RQ
Summary Introduction
Thermodesulfobacteria and Thermotogae form two intensely branching phyla within the bacteria. These are hyperthermophilic bacteria demonstrated that horizontal gene transfer has occurred from Archaea to bacteria. Thermocrinis, Thermotoga, and Aquifex are extremophiles. They can grow optimally at extremely high temperatures.
