Expert Solution & Answer
Check Mark
Summary Introduction

To identify:

The specialized cells of body that monitor the specific internal and external conditions.

Introduction:

The sensory information passes through the neurons in the central nervous system is responsible to monitor the functions of all over the body. This can be done through the sensory receptors.

The sensory receptors are the specialized cells responsible for monitoring the specific conditions of the body and external environment.

Explanation of Solution

The sensations are the important part of our life and are created by the sensory receptors. During stimulation an action potential is propagated along the axon of a sensory neuron, which is generated by receptors is then further relayed to other neurons present in the path. The signal is processed in CNS where it is finally delivered.

The sensory receptors react with the physical stimulus in external environment. The sensory cells also act as detecting cells they can detect the changes in the internal and external environment

One of our homework questions in Anatomy 1 states Describe the relationship between homeostatic imbalance and disease.   I understand that homeostasis is what our bodies use to keep balance and regulation. Is this question something along the lines of; When our bodies catch a flu/virus the body fights off the disease by giving us a fever. The fever fights off the infection by chemical responses that come from the receptor detecting change in the body and trying to get all levels of each system back to it's regular functioning levels?   Thank you,  Julianne
