Chapter 15, Problem 9CP
Summary Introduction
To review:
The neurotransmitters and the hormones that bind to the adrenergic receptors.
Introduction:
The plasma membrane of the postsynaptic nerve cells or the effector cells have receptors for the neurotransmitters produced by the autonomic nerve cells. The autonomic neurons are categorized as adrenergic or cholinergic based on the type of neurotransmitter released by them. The adrenergic receptors interact with hormones as well as neurotransmitters.
