To describe: The structure that develops into the retina.
Introduction: The retina is the thin layer that is present at the back of the eye near to the optic nerve. The main function of the retina is to receive the light from the lens and convert them into neuronal signals. This signal is passed to the brain through the optic nerve for visual recognition.

To describe: The cells that develop into the photoreceptors cells.
Introduction: The eye is the organ of the vision. The structure of the eye consists of the iris, cornea, retina, lens, macula, optic nerve, pupil, choroid, and vitreous. It is made up of three layers. The outer layer consists of fibrous tunic; the middle layer consists of vascular tunic; and the inner layer consists of the retina.
