Chapter 15.5, Problem 3CYP
Summary Introduction
To determine:
The process of translation of sound waves to nerve impulse by the spiral organ.
Introduction:
The cochlea in mammals consists of a receptor-like organ called spiral organ or organ of Corti. It is composed of the strip of the epithelial cells that help in auditory signal transduction. It is located in the inner ear between the tympanic duct and the vestibular duct. There are small mechanosensory cells called hair cells.
