Chapter 16, Problem 11TYK
Summary Introduction

Introduction:

The bacteria produce tough spores during the presence of the harsh conditions of temperature, pressure, oxygen and humidity. These spores have a tough outer wall made up of peptidoglycan. It helps in preventing the destruction of the bacteria; therefore prolonged heating at elevated temperatures is required. The heating at extremely high temperatures is required to break open the spores and kill the tetanus bacteria.
