Chapter 1.6, Problem 16WDYL
Summary Introduction

To determine: The difference in the positive and negative feedback of the homeostatic system.

Introduction

Homeostasis is the condition of the body in which the internal is regulated and maintained in a constant state at a given time. Homeostasis is controlled by a positive feedback mechanism or a negative feedback mechanism depending on the requirement of the body. A reaction's outcome is amplified to speed up its occurrence in a positive feedback loop, which increases the change or output. Negative feedback happens to lower or decrease the change taking place.

In simple words, explain the role of feedback mechanism in maintaining homeostasis?
a) Negative feedback is used to maintain homeostasis whereas positive feedback is not. O b) Negative feedback is an involuntary reflex whereas positive feedback is not. O) Positive feedback works to oppose a change whereas negative feedback accelerates a change. d) All of the above are true.
