Program Plan Intro

Lexical Analysis:

• Lexical analysis converts high-level input program into a series of tokens and it also called as scanner.
• It is implemented with the Deterministic Finite Automata (DFA).
• A series of tokens are the output which is sent to the parser for syntax analysis.

Syntax Analysis:

• The second phase of compilation is syntax analysis or parse tree.
• It is used to check the given input is in the correct syntax format or not.

Semantic Analysis:

• It ensures that statements and declarations of program are semantically correct.
• Semantic analysis tests whether the built parse tree meets language rules.

Intermediate Code Generation:

• It is used to translate the source code into the machine code.
• In between the high-level language and the machine language, the intermediate code is translated.
