The sympathetic division is often called the division of the thoracolumbar as it comes from the spinal cord's thoracic and lumbar regions. The division of parasympathetic is called the craniosacral division as it originates from the brain and sacral part of the spinal cord; its fibers migrate in some cranial and sacral nerves.
