Interpretation: The spontaneity of
Concept Introduction: The reaction which occurs on its own is known as spontaneous reaction.
The half-reaction containing the metals from top of the list of activity series, when paired with the reverse of half-reaction containing the metals from the bottom of the list, it will be a spontaneous reaction.
The metal present at the top of the activity series is oxidised and the metal present at the bottom of the activity series is reduced.
