Summary Introduction
Betaproteobacteria are a class of Gram-negative bacteria. It is one of the eight classes of the phylum Proteobacteria and it is the third largest class of Proteobacteria. The Betaproteobacteria enclose an enormous amount of functional diversity. Betaproteobacteria have several characterized species. This includes Burkholderiales, Rhodocyclales, Nitrosomonadales, Methylophilales, Hydrogenophilales, and Neisseriales.
