The thyroid gland is the largest gland in our body. The thyroid gland contains many spherical hollow sacs known as parafollicular and follicle cells. The follicular cell forms two hormones thyroxin(T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). T4andT3 together called as thyroid hormone. The basal metabolic rate is controlled by T3 andT4 hormones.
