What tax treatment do individual investors generally prefer in stock redemptions? Why? Some in the financial press were critical of seagram’s management for selling Du Pont stock for below current market price. Specifically, commentators said that Seagram;s management sold the Du pont stock at $4.50 per share less than market value, which damaged the wealth of seagram shareholders. Do you agree? Why or why not? Did Seagram's stock price increase in response to the large unexpected tax savings?  What other explanations might there be?
07. Referring to Fig 4b and the attached table, determine whether the shares of federal individual income taxes paid by the top 10%, top 5%, top 1% of households by income, has increased or decreased following the major tax cut years of 1982, 1987, and 2002-03.     Increased     decreased
Hi, can you explain how does this aspect affects the U.S economy? Tax rates. The new law imposes a new tax rate structure with seven tax brackets: 10%, 12%, 22%, 24%, 32%, 35%, and 37%. The top rate was reduced from 39.6% to 37% and applies to taxable income above $500,000 for single taxpayers, and $600,000 for married couples filing jointly. The rates applicable to net capital gains and qualified dividends were not changed. The “kiddie tax” rules were simplified. The net unearned income of a child subject to the rules will be taxed at the capital gain and ordinary income rates that apply to trusts and estates. Thus, the child’s tax is unaffected by the parent’s tax situation or the unearned income of any siblings.
