To explain: The function of tRNAs in the process of translation for building a polypeptide.

Concept introduction:

The genetic information of DNA is based on the nucleotide base sequences. These sequences are transcribed into mRNA triplets and are called codons.

After transcription process, the ribosome binds with the mRNA sequences in the cytoplasm. The tRNA molecules have an anticodon that pairs with its complementary codon on mRNA. As a result, the polypeptide formed are of codon-specific amino acid.  This process is known as translation.
