Question
Chapter 17, Problem 5Q
Summary Introduction
Introduction
The MMR vaccine theory was an idea proposed by Wakefield and colleagues (1998) to explain the postnatal biological causes of autism spectrum disorder. This theory explains that the vaccine (which is given to children between the ages of 12 to 15 months for humps, rubella, and measles) can lead to a severe stomach disorder due to the growth of measles virus in the body. This can eventually cause autism spectrum disorder.
