Introduction:

The formation of a new species is called speciation. It is of two types: allopatric speciation and sympatric speciation. In allopatric speciation, a geographical barrier reproductively isolates populations of a species and with time they form new species. In sympatric speciation the new species are formed within the same area. The reproductive isolation is caused due to other temporal or behavioral reasons.
