Explanation of Solution
Somatic cells are any cell of the body except the germ cells. These cells are diploid cells that they contain a diploid number of chromosomes and are produced by mitosis. Germ cells are any biological cell that produces gametes of an organism. They are produced by meiosis. They contain half the number of chromosomes present in the somatic cells.
