Introduction:

The endocrine glands are those glands that secrete chemical mediators, known as hormones. Hormones are regulatory substances which are produced and transported into tissue fluids like blood and controls the activity of cells or organs. Types of endocrine glands are pituitary gland, thyroid gland, adrenal gland, and parathyroid gland etc.

There are some glands that are not exclusively endocrine in nature but still release hormones.
