Chapter 18, Problem 8RTC
Summary Introduction
To determine:
The role of each domain in kinesin movement, its direction of movement and also if kinesis-1 with one inactive head can efficiently move the vesicle along a microtubule.
Introduction:
Motor proteins move on the microtubule by using the cytoskeleton. It is differentiated into actin and microtubule motors. Actin motors interact with actin whereas microtubule motor interacts with tubulin. Microtubule motor includes kinesins and dyneins. Kinesin is a protein which is in eukaryotic cells. It moves along the filaments of microtubule which gets powered by ATP.
