Introduction:

Mutation is defined as the permanent alteration in nucleotide sequence of gene. It results in the change in nucleotide sequence codes for different proteins. It occurs either in germ cells or in somatic cells. Mutation in somatic cell results in diseases such as cancer. Mutations are caused by “mutagens”. Mutagen can be a chemical, radiation, environmental, and genetical factor. Mutations are sometimes good but sometimes lethal too.
