To determine:
The difference between the process of morphogenesis and differentiation.
Introduction:
The developmental process of a multicellular organism begins with a single cell, the zygote, which divides mitotically to produce all cells of the body. Further, the zygote divides into hundreds of different types of cells like muscle cells, nerve cells, epidermal cells and so on. All these cells contain the same set of genes but develop into specialized cells. The cells are not distributed randomly, rather are organized into specific tissue and organs. The organized arrangement of the different tissue always follows a species-specific pattern.
The main processes involved in the development of organism consists of morphogenesis, cell differentiation, and growth.
