Compare and contrast the alternation of generations in pines and angiosperms. This must be very detailed and include all major structures and process involves. Be sure to include when the plants are haploid or diploid. You can use a list as long as order is clear. Be sure to clearly write out structure and processes and indicate which things are the same and which are different.
describe alternation of generations in plants using the words
Haploid -
Diploid -
Gametophyte -
Sporophyte -
Gametes -
Zygote -
Draw a simple diagram illustrating alternation of generations in plants, including the sporophyte and gametophyte generations, spores, gametes (eggs and sperm), meiosis, and fertilization. Be sure to indicate whether each generation or kind of cell is haploid or diploid.

In both cases the plants live in desert environments. They have a succulent stem that stores water, no leaves (reduces water loss), stems that can perform photosynthesis, and spines that protect the plant from being eaten. The spines are formed from different parts of the plant in the two families. The two plant families are not closely related.
