Introduction: The brain obtains blood from two major sources such as the internal carotid arteries and the vertebral arteries, and the common carotid arteries bifurcate. However, the internal carotid artery branches into major cerebral arteries, for example, the anterior and the middle cerebral arteries.

Explanation of Solution
The internal carotid artery is sited in the neck (inner side). It originates from the common carotid arteries where they divide into internal and external carotid arteries. The major role of the internal carotid artery is to bring blood to the brain, including eyes, with the help of the basilar artery.
