Introduction:

The cat-scratch disease is caused by bacterium Bartonella henselae, which is a gram-negative aerobic bacillus. Endotoxin is its primary virulence factor. It can reproduce inside the red blood cells and surrounding cells of blood capillaries. This disease usually caused by kittens which transmits the Bartonella bacterium into the skin. The blood-sucking arthropods can also transmit it, from cat to people. The Bartonella henselae secrete endotoxins when it dies, that can cause fever, inflammation, shock and blood clotting in the body.
