Introduction:

Cellular respiration is the process of converting sugar molecules into ATP. The biochemical energy stored in sugar molecules is converted to the energy-rich ATP molecules which are used for performing all the cellular functions. If it happens in the presence of oxygen it is called aerobic respiration, if it occurs in the absence of oxygen it is called anaerobic respiration.
