Chapter 19, Problem 3WWTS
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
The heart consists of four chambers such as right atrium, left atrium, right ventricle, and left ventricle. Atrium to ventricle chambers are guarded by atrioventricular (AV) valves that prevent the backflow of blood from the ventricles to the atrium. There are four major blood vessels in the heart, namely venae cavae, pulmonary arteries, pulmonary veins, and aorta. The aorta and pulmonary artery receive blood from the left and right ventricles of the heart, and they are guarded by semilunar valves that prevent the back flow of blood back to the ventricles.
