Chapter 19.6, Problem 3CYP
Summary Introduction
To analyze:
The difference between translocation and inversion.
Introduction:
Chromosomal rearrangement is a type of mutation that can lead to abnormal chromosome structure. It is caused when the DNA double helix structure breaks at two different locations so that an entire segment of DNA is separated. This segment when rejoins the chromosome in a different pattern than the original one, an abnormal chromosome is produced. Chromosomal rearrangement is of many types like translocation, inversion, deletion etc.
