Answer to Problem 1QFR

Temperature is the function of molecular kinetic energy, while heat is the amount of energy that is the function of mass and temperature.

Explanation of Solution

Heat and temperature both represent energy. While temperature refers to the feel of energy, heat implies the amount of energy transferred. The basic difference among temperature and heat are as follows,

    Heat    Temperature
The energy that is stored inside the system is termed as heat.Temperature is the measure of the degree of how hot or cold a body is.
Heat energy can be measured by measuring the rate of convection, conduction and radiation.Temperature can be measured using various scales like Celsius, kelvin, and Fahrenheit.
The energy in the system can change with change in mass, temperature, and material of the body. The temperature only depends on the molecular energy change or change in the kinetic energy of the body.
The heat can only be measured using the amount of energy present or mathematical formula like calorimetric or some method of mixtures.Thermometer is the most convenient method to estimate the value of temperature.
If two bodies are at same heat energy will not have same temperatureIf two bodies are at same temperature can peruse same heat energy
S.I unit of heat is JouleS.I. unit of temperature is Kelvin.
