To explain:
The reason for the need of the cholesterol in the body with its beneficial and harmful effects.
Introduction:
The cholesterol is a fused ring hydrophobic molecule present in the lipid bilayer of the membrane. It provides strength, fluidity and rigidity to the cell membrane. The levels of cholesterol, LDL and HDL should be maintained in the blood as the increase in the concentration of these metabolites leads to their deposition in the blood vessels causing an obstruction in the flow of blood. The supply of oxygen and nutrients to the organs is reduced leading to the changes in pH inside the body. There is chance of developing cardiac diseases due to the impaired blood supply to the lungs.
