Explanation of Solution

Graphical Interchange Format file (GIF):

• It is a type of raster graphics format, where the information about an image is stored in pixel-by-pixel basis.
• GIF has a predefined set of colors.
  • It has 256 unique colors or 8-bit palette, which is nothing but indexed color format.
• The images with few colors are best for GIF format.
• These images are mostly used in web pages for quick loading of websites.
• The information about the colors used in an image is stored in 256 color palettes. It is stored as an array of elements.
• It is lossless compression technique; the compression will not affect the quality of the image.
• It is suitable for simple diagrams, shapes, and logos since predefined colors are used.
• GIF supports animation also and the extension of GIF is “.gif”.

Bitmap Image file (BMP):

• It is Microsoft windows OS inbuilt file format for handling graphics files.
• This file format stores two-dimensional digital images both monochrome and color, in various color depths.
• Bitmap is straight forward image compression technique, which does not compress the image at all.

• It is lossy compression technique; the compression affects the visible quality of the image up to certain limit, and it reduces the size of the image...
