Introduction:

The procedure performed to validate, accept, or refute the hypothesis is termed as an experiment. From an experiment, one can analyse the output when certain factors are manipulated.

Explanation of Solution

An experiment that is manipulated by the scientist is termed as the controlled experiment. This experiment is performed to test a single variable in the given time. This single variable is termed as the independent variable.

Under controlled conditions only, a controlled experiment can be performed. This means, while doing this experiment, only one condition can be altered at a time, while keeping other conditions at constant.
