Introduction:
The circulatory system has a special feature like adapting to the functions of the organs to which they supply blood. When compared to other organs, the brain receives less blood (of the overall blood flow), around 700 ml/min at rest of the overall blood flow. Even though the less amount of blood is received by the brain, that less volume of blood is important as it has more reliability. If blood is cut off from the brain, within few seconds, it leads to oxygen deprivation and loss of consciousness. This causes a major damage if the brain is not re-supplied with oxygen within five minutes (anoxia).
