To explain: The way in which the neurons of the vertebrates avoid unproductive synapses with themselves effectively though it seems almost inevitable to occur.
Concept introduction: Neurons are the structural and functional unit of the nervous system. The neurons develop from the ectoderm of the gastrula. Neurons are made of dendrites, axons and a cell body. The dendrites of one neuron make connection with axon of another neuron or dendrite of another neuron or two axons of two neurons makes connection, called as synapse. The dendrites of the neurons are highly branched structures which has the high possibility of making self synapses which is unproductive but that is avoided during development itself.
