Higher voltages are not used in homes because they are not safe.

Explanation of Solution

Introduction: The electrical force that causes current to flow in the circuit is known as voltage. Conventional electric current flows from higher to the lower voltage.

Mainly, higher voltages supply much more energy as compared to the lower voltages. Higher voltages (600 V or 1200 V) would be unsafe if they were used in the householdwires. Using of high voltage will increase the possibility of short circuits as well as accidental electrocutions.

Conclusion:  Higher voltage lines are not safe for household wires.
