Question
Chapter 21, Problem 21.42QP
Interpretation Introduction
Interpretation:
The trend and the sulfates of the group 2A metals in order of increasing solubility in water has to be explained.
Concept introduction:
Solubility: A solid, liquid or gaseous chemical compound which is said to be solute is dissolved in a solid, liquid or gaseous solvent is said to be solubility. Simply we can say that in a solution solute dissolves in a solvent.
- The metals of group 2A are beryllium, magnesium, calcium, strontium, and barium.
- These metals forms hydroxides, sulfates, and carbonates.
- The sulfate forms of group 2A metals is less soluble down the group.
